The 2015 NSW Carer of the Year, Sheila Openshaw, has called on members of the community to nominate a carer they know. This year, 10 awards are available for individuals and organisations to be honoured during Carers Week, which runs from Sunday, October 16 to Saturday, October 22. Nominations for the NSW Carers Awards 2016 close on Sunday, July 10 at midnight, and can be made online at www.careforacarer.nsw.gov.au/carersawards.
Be a guest at CP&SA’s Christmas in July
The Rylstone Branch of the Combined Pensioners and Superannuants Association is hosting a Christmas in July at the Rylstone Hotel (top pub) on Saturday, July 23. Numbers are limited so please RSVP to Pam Smith 0427 791 547 by June 30.
Come to the dogs
Annual Championship Dog Show at the Rylstone Showground on Saturday and Sunday, July 23-24. Huge variety of dog breeds, all welcome. Entry is free and there is plenty of parking available. Saturday 12.30pm Christmas in July theme. All local children up to 10 yrs are invited to bring their favourite soft toy to be judged in the traditional Stuffed Toy Competition. Drop in for parent support
HealthOne’s Family Matters is providing Drop-in Parenting Support on Thursday afternoons 2pm-4pm at Kandos CWA rooms in Jaques Street. Meet and socialise with local parents, weigh your baby, have your baby/child checked and chat with the child and family health nurse. Call HealthOne on 6357 8150.
