Members from the Wongarbon, Dunedoo, Ilford-Running Stream and Mudgee Day and Evening groups joined the group for a lunch based on traditional Mongolian foods.
Students from Gulgong Public School also attended, to present the results of their own studies into Mongolian life, including artwork and costumes.
The day was a triple celebration combining International Day with a celebration of the group’s recent 90th anniversary and the annual Food Fest.
Food Fest is a day to prepare a meal made entirely with Australian ingredients, to emphasise the importance of supporting Australian producers, and Gulgong CWA used predominantly Australian products to recreate traditional Mongolian dishes.
IMG1 Gulgong Public School students presented their knowledge of Mongolia, with Ruby Chetcuti, Jeremy Wood, Maddison O’Regan, Daine Patrick, Breanna Glover and (front) Campbell Bright in traditional Mongolian costume.
Each year, CWA members across the state learn about a different Country of Study.
Mongolia is the Country of Study for this year.
The Gulgong CWA branch thank the Gulgong School children for the wonderful display of information on Mongolia.
The Gulgong CWA meets at 1pm on the third Friday of each month. New members are welcome.
