Mudgee businesses have come up with a multitude of ways to “Pink Up Mudgee” and support the McGrath Foundation during October.
One hundred and twenty businesses have already signed up to the campaign.
Vets will be wearing pink scrubs, plumbers will be sporting pink shirts and pink hi-vis, and tennis players will taking to the courts in pink to raise money to fund McGrath Foundation breast care nurses in regional and rural areas.
Michelle Meyers of Ross Granata Motors will literally be putting her best foot forward for the next 31 days.
Michelle will be wearing a different pair of pink shoes for every day of October and is seeking sponsorship for her fundraiser.
“Everyone has a mother or a sister or best friend or wife,” she said.
“It’s important to know that if they have breast cancer, they can get support and help without having to be a long way from home without the support of their family and friends.”
Members of the public can support Michelle’s fundraiser through Ross Granata Motors’ instagram or Facebook.
Every person who buys a car from Ross Granata Motors in October will also receive a ticket in the “Pink Up Mudgee” raffle, with a chance to win a Holden Barina Spark.
Mudgee Bakery and Cafe is getting behind “Pink Up Mudgee” by turning the shop pink and donating $1 from every pink macaron sold in October.
Mudgee Vet Hospital will be turning everything pink for the month – from their uniforms to their logo.
“Pink Up Mudgee” events include the Pink Charity Golf Day at Mudgee Golf Club on October 16, McDonalds Mudgee Pink Day on October 15, and a visit by the Channel 9 Today Show weather team on October 7.
The Rotary Clubs of Mudgee will be donating proceeds from their October movies to the McGrath Foundation.
Many more businesses are participating by decorating their windows or making donations to the McGrath Foundation and local landmarks will be bathed in pink.
If you would like to be part of “Pink Up Mudgee” there is still time to register. See the Mudgee Chamber of Commerce website on www.mudgeechamber.com.au
