Guest speaker at Rylstone Kandos Rotary this evening, Tuesday, October 4 is Lt. Col. David Deasey, Chairman of the NSW Committee of the National Boer War Memorial Association.
As a writer and historian he is passionate about honouring Boer War veterans with a National Memorial. Mr Deasey will be a guest of Rotary which meets at the Rylstone Club at 7.30pm.
Rylstone market
The second Rylstone Artisan and Produce Market for October is on this Saturday, October 8 in the grounds of the Rylstone Memorial Hall in Louee Street from 9am until 1pm.
Come along and browse the extensive range of quality products the region has to offer.
Choose from a selection of beautiful handmade clothing and accessories using wool, alpaca and silk materials, or handcrafted jewellery, ceramics, arts and crafts.
You can also enjoy the fine art of photography and cards, select from award winning jams and chutneys, delectable sweet treats, olives and oils.
There are also aromatic candles, and native plants, fresh produce, and herbs, flower and vegetable seedlings will also be available.
The association is always looking to showcase local talent, so if you create it, bake it, grow it or make it, and you live locally, you can sell it at the Rylstone Artisan and Produce Markets.

Local and family history group talk
The Local and Family History Group is hosting a talk on “Free e-resources for researching local and family history” that will provide information on accessing free resources via the internet.
It’s on from 11am to 12pm today, Tuesday, October 4 at the VRA shed in Cox St, Rylstone.

Family Fun Day
The Rylstone-Kandos Family Fun Day is on at the Rylstone Showground tomorrow, Wednesday October 5 from 10am to 2pm.
Come along for disco, Zumba, a jumping castle and lots of activities.
There’ll be a barbecue and while you’re there you can foster a toy, play bubble soccer, enter an art competition and do a Pokémon search.
There’ll also be a photo booth and lots more free fun activities.
This special Recycling event is organised by the Family Fun Day committee and hosted by Kandos Interagency.
