Mudgee Health Service staff have raised more than $500 for the McGrath Foundation by wearing pink scrubs and shirts during “Pink Up Mudgee” month.
Five dollars from each pink shirt ordered by Mudgee Health Service staff went to help the McGrath Foundation fund breast care nurses in regional and rural centres.
Mudgee Health Service ordered so many pink shirts that they cleaned out the supplier’s stock.
Local golfers also helped to “Pink Up Mudgee” with a charity golf day at the Mudgee Golf Club on Sunday.
Around 70 golfers took to the course sporting pink shirts and hat and even driving a pink golf cart.
Mudgee Golf Club staff wore pink shirts for the day, which raised more than $3000.
On Saturday, Dance Unlimited “Pinked Up” Lawson Park with their end-of-year Prance in the Park showcase and released 150 balloons to show support for the McGrath Foundation.
McGrath Foundation ambassador Hugh Bateman said businesses were still joining “Pink Up Mudgee”.
