At the Mudgee Golf Club the weather is improving as well as the golf scores and Jason Chrcek blitzed the field with his 43 points in the Thursday stableford.

It would be safe to say that Jason can say goodbye to his 36 handicap and hello to the raft of potential 2 ball partners queueing up to play with him.
The unlucky runner up was Doug Thomas.
His 41 points is usually a winning score.
Jason also took out the 2 Ball event ably supported by his playing partner Geoff Rhodes and their 48 points was two clear of Ron Fletcher and Jeff Bourke.
Nearest the pins went to Geoff Rhodes on the second and eleventh, Neil Reynolds on the fourth, Anthony Egan on the seventh, Peter Doherty on the eleventh and seventeenth and Ron Fletcher on the eleventh.
The course was rated at one under par and there were 70 starters with balls to 33 count back.
Saturday was the Monthly Mug event and club captain Mick Kelly won A grade with 37 points from Matt Consadine on 36 on a count back from Jason Seis.
John Brown careered away with B grade with 45 points with Darren Slade on 37 and Terry O’Dwyer on 36.
C grade went to Ron Tribe on 39 points from Jeff Bourke on 36 and Glenn Morgan on 35 count back.
There were 51 entrants, balls went to 34 count back and the rating was 70.
Zac Kelly won nearest the pin on the second, Craig Golledge on the fourth, Mark Bennie on the seventh as well as A grade on the eleventh, Steve Burrage and Glenn Morgan were the respective B and C grade winners on the eleventh and Susan Dowling-Brown on the seventeenth.
Next Saturday the members play the annual Short Course stableford from the ladies tees.
At Gulgong Golf Club Saturday, October 15, saw the 18 Hole Stroke and Putts, sponsored by the Centennial Hotel, the second round of Club Championships.
Winners; Norm Sheather 59 Net; Dave Quinn 66 Net Count Back and 25 Putts; Bruce Cleeve 66 Count Back.
The Monthly Mug was won by Norm Sheather, 59 Net.
The Monthly Ladies Goblet was taken out by Lesley Miller, 70 Net.
