“Some of the members in our group are in their 80s and have been members for 10 or 12 years,” Mary Lovett, founding member and coordinator said.
“We used to be a much more active and hands-on group, but now we’re trying to use our brain power more to come up with ways we can make a difference.”
The celebration included an award presentation and cutting of a cake by longest servicing members Marjorie Curran and Joan Hardie.
The group has worked to hold audio described theatre productions in the past and is now working to raise awareness about Charles Bonnet Syndrome, where people with vision impairment experience hallucinations.
