After two years of preparation, Kandos’s very own contemporary arts festival, Cementa, will showcase over 60 artists who will exhibit, make and perform works throughout 20 locations in Kandos and the region.

Cementa is jam-packed with four days and nights of performance, sound, cabaret, interactive and electronic arts, video installations and ceramics.
Cementa17 will present a strong showing of works by Indigenous artists, including installations by Tony Albert, Teena McCarthy and Paris Norton, and a portrait series by Mervyn Bishop.
This unique festival, full of curious events and spectacles can only be experienced in Kandos!
Organisers are encouraging the public to bring the whole family to experience Cementa and get a glimpse into the world of contemporary art.
Exhibits will be open each day for public viewing between April 6-9, from 10am – 4pm.
The public can either browse the exhibits freely or be a part of an artist led walking tour that will take place each day at 10am or 4pm.
Local Councillor, Sam Paine, will open the Salon, an exhibition of local works, on Thursday, April 6, at 6pm. The official Cementa opening will take place at the Kandos Railway Hotel, on Friday, April 7 starting at 5.30pm.
