On Monday, the bank moved into the newly refurbished building, right next door on Church street.
A major fit out started at the end of last year.
The branch relocation is part of a multi-million dollar upgrade of bank branches nationally.
New features of the branch include the removal of conventional barriers between branch staff and customers and new technology such as instant cash and cheque deposit machines, coin counting and dispensing machines, NetBank terminals, free wi-fi and video conferencing options to connect customers with specialists who are not in branch.
Jane Stanford, Mudgee Branch Manager, believes the relocated branch will provide an improved and interactive banking environment for Mudgee residents.
“The bank’s investment in Mudgee is a great example of how we are continuing to update our branch network and shows we are dedicated to making banking simpler, easier and more accessible for the local community.
“We look forward to working closely with our customers to deliver a more personalised customer experience,” she said.
James Corbett, Regional General Manager for Regional NSW and ACT, Commonwealth Bank retail banking services said: “We are committed to offering our customers the best in-branch experience possible and providing a range of services that better meet their diverse needs.
“Our branch staff look forward to delivering a more integrated banking experience in this newly located branch to help customers on the path towards meeting their financial goals”.
The Mudgee branch is located at the Mudgee Town Centre, 19-41 Church Street.
The previous building, built in 1913, at 17 Church Street, Mudgee is available for lease from The Property Shop.
This is the first time the building has been made available to the general public in 100 years. The building consists of 357 square feet of downstairs space for the new tenant.
