As an ambassador for the 15th annual tour of Australasia, Green will partake in a series of community events.
A former Darwin school teacher, Green is best known as the woman whose faith in her horse paid off in dividends, after Rogan Josh won the 1999 Melbourne Cup. Referred to as ‘Wendy in Wonderland’, Green jointly owned Rogan Josh with her son John-Paul Miller and husband Robert.

It took Green’s complete belief in her horse to convince trainer Bart Cummings, Rogan Josh’s career wasn’t over. After no wins for 18 months, success at Caulfield led to a win in the Mackinnon Stakes at Flemington’s 1999 Derby Day, with Cummings starting the horse in the 3200m Cup the following Tuesday. The rest is history.
VRC Chairman Amanda Elliott said she is thrilled to have Green join this year’s milestone 15th Emirates Melbourne Cup Tour.
The Cup will visit Mudgee on Tuesday, August 22.
