As of Tuesday afternoon 21 competitors had registered for the event which will feature the country’s toughest four-wheel-drives and two of America’s leading drivers.
The Racetech Steel Round 3 of the TG Rocks – International Rock Sports event consists of four classes and will be held at 12 Mile Road, Wellington over August 12-13.
Ultimate Rock Sports company director, David Harwood, said spectators will observe competitors navigating around short, challenging courses.
“You will see a lot of articulation with the vehicles, it really puts them through their paces,” David said.
“It’s not something that you’re going to see every day, it’s very extreme four-wheel-driving.
“Vehicles drive obstacles that you wouldn’t normally drive, there are some very big rocks on that property and it’s just awesome driving.”
