A 63 year old Rylstone man has been assaulted after he approached a man he believed had been illegally trespassing on his property and hunting wild pigs.

The man became defensive and attacked the victim on Saturday, October 14. The victim sustained major bruising to his face and a laceration above his eye that required medical treatment.

Mudgee LAC recently explained, “Police focus on illegal hunting and trespassing as part of their daily duties, especially on evenings and weekend shifts”.
The patrols are also used to address driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
“If you are hunting please ensure you have the required permission from the landholder and that you have everything in order and safety is paramount,” the Facebook post explained.
Police advise, “you have problems with trespassing or hunting please ring your local police at the time you are experiencing the problem”.
“We get a few calls in relation to illegal trespassing and hunting often days or weeks later, we are grateful for this information too as it assists us deploy our resources in those areas.”
