He will join 90 other artists from across Australia for the exhibition which features 152 artworks including 72 two-dimensional works, 35 small indoor sculptures and 45 large outdoor works.
Richard’s sculptures are made from recyclable material – mainly metal, but he explained, ‘the older the better, it’s giving it another lease of life.”
“I source the material from the scrap metal people here, and I go to a lot of clearing sales from here to Wellington and Dubbo,” he said.
“It has to be the very old farm machinery – back in the 1800’s – because 1902 headers and things are just too modern.
Richard will display two pieces – Fast Chukka, a life-size horse and rider, made completely out of recycled material including four-wheel drive leaf springs, wagon wheel rims and bonnet springs and – Dancing Brolgas.
