The club had a meeting on Wednesday night ahead of this Sunday’s Group 10 annual general meeting, and McLeish says it was another positive step after the club had struggled to form a committee.
“We’ve inherited the club in good shape,” McLeish said.
“The energy being shown, and support from the player group is really positive and that’s giving us a lot of confidence.”

It’s expected the 2018 Group 10 draw will be released soon after Sunday’s meeting.
McLeish said the Magpies will be pushing for a lot more Sunday afternoon football in an effort to attract families and boost crowd numbers.
“Hopefully we have a draw soon and we can really get stuck into some planning,” he said.
The Magpies remain in the market for a coach for the new season, but the club isn’t feeling the pinch just yet.
“The time factor is the only negative thing.”
