Poppies will not be sold in the Mudgee region this year for Remembrance Day, due to a state-wide ban imposed by NSW RSL. The fundraising ban has been placed on all RSL Sub Branches across the state, stopping them from selling any poppies and other tokens.

Local sub-branches and auxiliaries were told to immediately cease fundraising as a consequence of the Bergin Inquiry, a Public Inquiry under the Charitable Fundraising Act 1991.
The State Council Directive said, “This suspension is happening because RSL NSW has determined its technical fundraising procedures are not compliant with the required standards."
The Mudgee RSL Sub Branch and the Mudgee RSL Women’s Auxiliary have apologised for the inconvenience, “but still hope to see everyone at the service on Saturday at Robertson Park”.
Free poppies will be handed out on the day.
The service will commence at 10.35am for the minute silence at 11am.
