Local Sport Defibrillator Grant
I am urging local sporting clubs to apply for co-funding for a defibrillator under the NSW Governments new local sport defibrillator grant program. More than 2,500 automatic external defibrillators (AED’s) will be rolled out across the state over the next four years.
I would like to see local sporting clubs to take advantage of this opportunity to apply for a grant to help fund an AED, this is lifesaving equipment. The program will fund up to 50 per cent of the defibrillator cost, along with training and maintenance support.
More than 33,000 Australians experience cardiac arrest every year, and the first minutes are critical to improving the likelihood of survival.
The program is targeting community sports clubs, but applications from licenced sporting clubs and sports organisations associated with schools, churches and councils will also be considered. Applications close December 20, 2017. Visit: www.sport.nsw.gov.au/clubs/grants
Invited to Apply for State Infrastructure Grants
Community organisations can now apply for the next round of funding for local projects under the NSW Government’s Infrastructure Grants program. Infrastructure Grants support new or upgraded community facilities across sport and recreation, arts and culture and emergency preparedness.
I encourage local organisations to consider applying for a project that will help make a real difference to our local community. These projects bring people together to enjoy new or improved sports, recreation, arts and cultural facilities, or help improve community safety in times of emergency.
During this term of government, $50 million in Infrastructure Grants is being provided to communities across NSW.”
Funding comes from the Clubgrants Category 3 program, which enables registered clubs to reinvest profits from gaming machine revenue to benefit local communities.
Recent improvements to the program have created more chances to apply for funding and encouraged more diverse projects.
Instead of one round of funding each year, there are now four rounds, while a streamlined application process has cut red tape and led to faster assessment. Christmas Card Competition
The 2017 Christmas Card Competition is now open to all students from Kinder to Year six across the Dubbo electorate. “The theme this year is ‘The Twelve Days of Christmas.
Entry is open to all Primary School students who reside in the Mid-Western Regional, Dubbo Regional and Narromine Shire areas. The winning entry will receive a $200 Voucher to store of the students choice, second place will receive a $100 Voucher with $50 voucher for third place. All entries must be A4 in size and be able to be reproduced, no cotton, glitter or anything stuck to the page. Entries must not be folded and the artist’s name, age and school should be clearly marked on the back of each entry. Entries must be received no later than 5pm November 30
