The Club’s Wishing Tree is now set up and ready for donations to make Christmas special for a child in need.
“The tree is filled with gift tags with ages and genders, call in take a tag, purchase your gift and drop it back into the sleigh,” Angela Martin from Club Mudgee explained.
Barnardos Mudgee works with children and young adults up-to 18 years and locals are invited to buy a present for that would suit that age group.
“During the Christmas period, Barnardos is fortunate enough to be the recipient of donations of Christmas gifts from individuals, local business and organisations such as Club Mudgee who have been generous supporters of Barnardos for a number of years,” Kate Cormie from Barnardos said.
“These gifts are then donated to children and young people throughout the area that would otherwise go without,” she said.
“Barnardos Mudgee is proud to be able to say that we support over 350 families and individuals per year through a range of programs. Starting before birth supporting parents to be fully prepared for the arrival of their new baby through to teenagers who may be experiencing difficulties at home, school or in the community. We facilitate playgroups and parenting programs throughout the Mid-Western Regional Council area as well as programs within the schools and run a youth drop in centre in Kandos, The Loft.”
