Chair of the Cowra Wine Show, Jenni Fagan, said the change has come about after the Sydney Wine Show changed dates for 2018.
“It will now be from the 9th till the 12th of July, with exhibitors tasting on the 13th and the Public Tasting will be on the 14th,” Mrs Fagan said.
“The 28th of July will be the Presentation.”
Mrs Fagan said the Cowra Wine Show Committee was poised to cope with the change of date and judges are in the process of being organised.
“That’s the dates as we see it, the two judges Russell Coady and Louisa Rose are happy with that date so they are both coming back so we are happy about that,” Mrs Fagan said.
“It’s just so people know.”
Mrs Fagan said this year will also once again feature pouring done by stewards on the night of the Public Tasting.
“After last year’s success with the pouring, it worked very well and we had some very pleasing comments after the event,” she said.
“I know there were some negative thoughts about it prior too but I think we proved that that was unnecessary and not at all correct.”
She said one of the main points she has taken from last year’s Wine Show was people learnt a lot about the wine industry.
“Everyone that was there said they had a great time and a lot of the young people said to me ‘we learnt a lot,’” she said.
Mrs Fagan thanked the volunteers for their efforts last year.
“We have to thank all of the volunteers, really without those volunteers you wouldn’t have a Show at all and you wouldn’t be able to put on the Public Tasting,” she said.
Mrs Fagan said the Committee was also considering reaching out to other wine producing regions to hold a stall like the Cowra Vineyard Association did last year.
“We also felt that we were working with them, we gave them to opportunity to showcase and take orders for their wines.”
