And a couple of those hopes hinge on strong performances at Towac Park.
Basing his stables out of Mudgee, Crockett is sending Kingsbridge, Prince of Thebes and The Frick to Racing Orange’s next TAB meeting on Tuesday in the hope of seeing enough from the trio to potentially springboard a run at the rich country championship.
Crockett was confident Kingsbridge and Prince of Thebes will both lead the field in the 1600m Benchmark 55 Handicap, but it’s how they pull up that will determine if they have a crack at the big money on offer in this year’s championship.
“It’s a possibility for (Kingsbridge) but not a target,” Crockett said of the gelding’s country hopes.
