Fourteen organisations will receive finance to support local events including Sculptures in the Gardens and Rylstone Street Feast following a determination by Council at its May meeting.
“Council is proud to support these events, many of which were established with financial support from Council,” Mayor of the Mid-Western Region, Des Kennedy, said.
“The flow on benefits of these events are important to our economy and tourism industry, bringing people to our region who stay with local accommodation providers, dine in local restaurants and shop with local retailers.”
Twice a year, Council invites community event organisers to apply for funding to support local events that benefit the local economy and attract visitors to the region.
Applicants are reviewed and scored against a set criteria.
Applications for Council’s Events Assistance Program, to support events in the first half of 2019 open later this year.
