Remember Hank Honeysett?
Well, he’s got more animal friends than Hunter and Gismo.
Chase rounds out the trio of pets at the Cudgegong Valley Hotel as the four-year-old Cattle Dog holds down the outdoor parts of the business, while the two kittens can be found indoors.
“Chase is in our backyard most of the time but there’s a see-through fence so he does interact with other people and their dogs that are here,” hotel co-owner Luke Honeysett said.
Lauren and Luke Honeysett have only owned the hotel for three months but Luke rescued Chase from the pound two and-a-half years ago and have loved his loyalty and kindness.

“When we rescued him, the pound man wanted to keep him himself because he had such a good nature,” Luke said.
“We’re very lucky. I’ve since found the original owner. It was just a bloke I was working with and he told me Chase kept running away but he hasn’t tried that with us.”
“All of our pets have been rescued.”
Chase gets along with almost everyone at the Cudgegong Valley Hotel, expect for Hunter and Gismo who don’t take too kindly to him.
“It’s not that Chase dislikes them,” Lauren Honeysett said.
“But when the cats see him they get aggressive and hiss at him and that’s when he gets offended. It’s the cats, not Chase.”
“He’s already attacked them once. We just keep Chase outside and the cats inside.”
The Honeysetts have received several strange requests from visitors since they took over the hotel and Luke said someone recently asked if they could breed their dog with Chase.
“Everyone that comes here likes him,” Luke laughed.
