The machine accepts up to 500 cans in a single transaction and instead of a refund, users can opt to give the money to charity or a local community group.

A location at Byron Place was initially highlighted as a suitable location, but was rejected by council due to a decrease in car parks by six to eight spots.
A person that we spoke to at the construction site said that the machine should be operational by the weekend of August 24.
