For a team that started the comp way out of their depth, the Mudgee Gulgong Wolves FC men’s third grade side is in good form heading into the Bathurst District Men’s Premier League semi finals this Sunday.

Mudgee’s finals opponents will be Bathurst 75 and the Wolves will back themselves to be howling at full time after downing Bathurst 2-1 in the last round of the season.
In what was initially a side of young boys up against men at the beginning of the season, Mudgee coach and captain Chris Clegg says his squad has come a long way.
“At the start of the season we use to get pushed off the ball a lot but now the other teams are finding we are returning the favour and pushing them off,” he said.
“We did start way out of our depth but we have really improved throughout the season.”
With the boys now understand and taking on instructions better than before, Clegg is confident they can down any team in the competition. "There's not one team we don't think we can beat."
Three of the side’s strongest players, Braeden Stewart (striker), Nathan Salamoni (striker), and Cooper Rowe (midfielder), are expected to stand out giving the team an extra boost in finesse.
There's no reason for the side to make any changes to their approach as passion and effort has led to results this season.
“They’re getting really comfortable playing together, and have created such a good culture and spirit for the team. “We will do the same game plan, more of what they know best.”
Play off for Sunday’s Men’s third grade semi finals is at 11am at Proctor Park Bathurst. “They will definitely be giving it their all,” Clegg assured.
