In its sixth year, the two day event see’s mixed pairs come from far and wide to play a weekend of five games with 15 ends per match.
A total of 22 teams were in attendance with the majority from Mudgee, but saw teams from Gulgong, Kandos, Gunnedah and Western Sydney chalk it up for the win.
It was Ronnie Seis and Wendy Whybrow who were crowned as they won five games with an approximate score of plus 40 to 50.
Mudgee’s weather provided the goods as the carnival was played in a succession of perfect weather across the two days.
Men’s Bowling Club Secretary David Menchin is hopeful there will be higher return numbers next year as it is often the case people re-enter the carnival for the love of the game.
“We are hoping for a large return of players for next year’s tournament,” Menchin said.’
“It’s the type of thing where people come and play, really enjoy their weekend then plan to come back to Mudgee.”
Runners up of the tournament are Steven Shannon and Sarah Seffey who fell short of number one by having a lower winning margin but came in second place, followed by D Baskerville and G Fittler of Mudgee, P and B Farrell of Kandos.
“We had a really great couple of days.”
Trophies were handed out by Ray Menchin, 94, on the Sunday.
The carnival was held on September 22 to 23, 2018.
