“There was one Mudgee men’s social team calling themselves the ‘MIP’ for ‘Men in Pink’ as part of Pink Up Mudgee,” Ros said.
Unfortunately, no Mudgee teams took any wins but the premier matches did not disappoint nor did the numbers of female contenders.
“The Premier Competition didn’t disappoint with some very talented players ensuring we saw some spectacular displays of athleticism.”
“The Women’s Competition is also growing with our best team numbers entering since ladies joined the tournament several years ago.”
It was who ADF defeated the Manly Mermaids 52-0 in the Women’s category, Timberwolves beat Newcastle Seamen 19-14 in Social Men’s comp, and Iconz Blue were crowned Premiers over Timberwolves 40-10.
A total of eight women’s teams played in the comp, 12 social, with eight in the premier section totaling 498 players.
“We are excited to make 2019 even bigger and better after so much positive feedback.”
The comp was held at Glen Willow on Saturday 6.
