Held at AREC and Shawwood Estate, Club President Dana Willmott says the event saw close to 200 riders despite locals riding up against professionals.
“It was a very successful weekend with over 170 riders competing, including many professional riders such as Carlene Barton, Jessica Rae and Andrew Barnett.”
Funding was spent a head of time at the cross country course at Shawwood Estate for upgrading which proved to be of benefit.
“The club has spent substantial money and effort upgrading the cross country course at Shawwood Estate in the weeks leading up which proved to be a draw card to the event.”
Local rider results: 1 Star - 1st Jessia Rae (Helsinki); Pre Novice - 1st in Juniors, 11th overall Felix Caspar (Sandhills Darcy); EV95 - 2nd in Juniors, 7th Overall Mia Baggett (Simpatico), 4th in Juniors, 14th Overall Felix Caspar (APH Sage); EV80 - 5th Flynn Baggett (Kurious George), 11th Gabrielle Mills (Cobble Gully Rockstar), 20th Milly Malone (Sandhills Ava), Sarah Willmott (Muscles); EV60 - 8th Peta Crosskill (Phoebe).
Junior riders will next jump in the saddle for the Interschools Horse Extravaganza, held at Tamworth on October 11 to 14, 2018.
The event was held on the 22nd to 23rd of September, 2018.
