What first started as a means to give parents and shift workers the opportunity to play in shorter games, it has become more recognised.
Strikers captain Ben Reynolds, says it is hard for a lot of people to commit to the games due to their length.
“Men of my age are not able to commit to the standard cricket of 40 overs with work commitments, especially since a normal cricket game is around six hours long.”
T20 games play out for approximately two and a half hours, with players embracing the change.
I think they have embraced it given the competition has attracted new players to the game.

This year there will be four teams competing to be crowned as the ‘Biggest Hitters in Mudgee’ with teams made up from current and former players.
Reynolds says if it weren’t for the sponsors, it wouldn’t be an option.
“A big shout out goes to the sponsors...without them, the competition doesn’t get of the floor.”
The game is expected to remain in strength for many years to come.
The competition will commence on Saturday 13, with Hurricanes taking on Thunder at 4:15pm followed by Strikers verse Kings at 6:45pm at Victoria Park.
