While we do have Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts that we post a variety of content to, we figured sport deserved its very own social media presence.
After weeks of “we should”, we have finally stepped out and decided to launch a Facebook page and Instagram account dedicated to the region’s sport.
These accounts will be a celebration of all sporting achievements, failures and news as well as a channel for community spirit to be shared.
Sport is such a huge part in the lives of many in the community, and is a way many connect with each other.
It is only fair that we give them a channel to see posts about things they love or are passionate about, and contribute any ideas to.
These pages will mostly be run by myself, Jay-Anna, the sports journalist, and I am eager to ensure there is a wide range of content posted.
I consider myself a very social media active person, who loves seeing things other than story posts which are great, but it’s variety that tends to attract audience numbers.
I don’t know of anyone who yawns at seeing a light hearted, funny video or has not tagged another person in a meme, poll or discussion post.
In saying this, you can expect to see this type of content from me on these accounts as I also love that type of stuff.
“I really hope to bring something different to sport in the region and I think by activating these social media accounts dedicated to sport, the change will happen,” Jay-Anna protested.
With subscriptions going live next week, we want to make sure we are offering the best coverage in the region for news, and now sport to make you two dollar subscription worth more value.
If you would like to keep up to date with sport in the region by social media, head to Mudgee Guardian Sport on Facebook or follow this link https://www.facebook.com/mudgeesport/, and search Mudgee Guardian Sport in Instagram.
