For 15 years, the Director of the Cameraygal Wind Symphony Gavin Stains, has been bringing his high school bands to Mudgee.
Mr Stains recently conducted a series of workshops and performances with the Chatswood High School band at Mudgee Public School, Cudgegong Valley Public School and Mudgee High School.
The Cameraygal Wind Symphony, the senior ‘Flagship’ ensemble of the Lane Cover Concert Band, will play in a combined workshop and concert with the Mudgee Concert Band.
Award winning Jazz vocalist who has toured worldwide, Jacki Cooper, will join in with the workshops.
Band Director, Katherine Wilson, said bringing such workshops to the region is a great benefit to all.
“It is a fantastic opportunity for the Mudgee Concert Band to be able to partner with and perform alongside both the Cameraygal Wind Symphony and Jacki Cooper.”
“People will have the opportunity to listen to some fantastic wind band music brought to you by both bands and the concert will finish with a fantastic performance by the 55 plus piece combined wind band.”
People are encouraged to come along and support our local musicians and enjoy a fabulous evening of live music.
- Katherine Wilson
The concert will be held on Saturday, November 3 with the first installment at 11.30am at Lowe Wines, and at 7pm at Club Mudgee.
