Either way there was a veritable feast of faces to spot at Australian racing’s biggest of days.
There were your homegrown stars of stage and screen, some sports-related champions and some politicians normally involved in matters far more consequential.
Whichever category they fall, the tents of Flemington were well-occupied by “familiar faces. From business moguls Anthony Pratt to Geelong Cats skipper Joel Sellwood to models Megan Gayle and Lara Worthington and back to deputy PM Michael McCormack and pollie power couple Marise Payne and Stuart Ayres, they were all there.
Singers Dionne Warwick and Sam Smith added some global glam to the affair, too.
