Fittingly, it was Melbourne Cup day and we saw two mighty dare I say, stallions, who fought out the finish.
What a contest it was as Keith Baker powered home to amass a wonderful 40 points to edge out Barry Hadaway in a countback.
Keith showed a fine return to form as he needed all his experience to head off Barry whose form of late has been nothing short of sensational.
Barry really showed his form with a fine 2 over par which included 3 bogies, one birdie and a massive 14 pars.
Hot on their heels and also requiring a countback was David Halpin (36 c/b) who claimed third prize ahead of Jim Read (36 points) who claimed fourth prize.
Ball winners were Trish Jones, David Evans, Bob Colley, Gavin White, John Farkas, Mike McGarrigle and Terry Bedford. Sharp-shooter and winner of the Mudgee Soldiers’ Motel NTP Voucher was John Farkas.
