Coming down an extra day ahead of schedule, the WSW team could not miss the chance to meet the local kids ahead of the clash against Brisbane Roar on Saturday.
Western Sydney Wanderers community engagement coordinator Another Siciliano, says the children not only got to play alongside the Wanderers, but also got up close and personal with them too.
“The full squad came down an extra day just to see all of the local kids,” Siciliano said.
“As well as a clinic, they got to get up close and personal for a full signing session with all of the players which is quite rare.”
Not only was the afternoon a treat for the youngsters, but also the Wanderers as they rarely get the chance to visit regional towns.
It’s very nice to come out regional and give everyone a taste of the Wanderers.

Approximately 200 littlies put on their boots and took to the field, getting some healthy exercise - an important thing close to the heart of the red and black contingent.
“It’s great to see a lot of red and black shirts out there,” Siciliano said.
“We’re always encouraging exercise and a bit of healthy competition as well as that never goes astray.”
Having witnessed the high need of football clinic’s out in the area, the Wanderers say they will be looking at coming back more often in the future.
We have been told this sort of thing doesn’t happen very often so we are going to look at doing it more now that we know there’s some want for us out here.
- Anthony Siciliano
“We’ve actually been quite surprised with the number of kids up here wanting football.
“It really has hit us how much football was needed out here, and we just love being out here with the kids.”
“We would like to thank McDonalds Mudgee, Mid-Western Regional Council and the Community for supporting the event.”
Western Sydney will take on Brisbane Roar on Saturday, November 10, at 5.35pm at Glen Willow Stadium.
