As part of their traineeship with the local real estate, Brooke and Sarah successfully completed a Certificate III in Business Administration last year at TAFE NSW.
The talented students left quite the impression on their TAFE NSW teacher, Sue Hughes, who nominated both of them for trainee of the year in the Mudgee Clock Awards in August this year.
“This was the first time Trainee of the Year was included in the Mudgee Clock Awards and I knew I had to put them both forward as they showed great initiative and were hard working trainees,” Ms Hughes said. “I was delighted to hear that Brooke was named Trainee of the Year and Sarah was a finalist.
“This highlights the fact that students learn top-quality job-ready skills at TAFE NSW to help them excel in a career they love. It’s also the perfect time to be working in the real estate industry with job openings in the Central West region expected to increase by 10.2 per cent between now and 2021 from new jobs being created.”
Brooke said she was shocked to receive the award but was proud of how far she had come in her career.

“Studying at TAFE NSW has helped improve my skills in Microsoft Office programs and office processes, it has also given me more confidence in my role as a sales coordinator. It was really easy to access learning resources and Sue (Hughes) was really supportive,” Ms Statham said.
Sarah has gone from the role of receptionist to leasing consultant since completing her studies at TAFE NSW and has aspirations to work in property management.
“I’ve always wanted to work in real estate. I really enjoy meeting new people and helping solve problems,” Ms Hodges said. “Every day is full of new and exciting experiences and TAFE NSW gives you the skills to manage any situation from communicating with clients to problem solving with computer applications.”
First National Real Estate Administration Manager, Mandy Blackman, said both Brooke and Sarah were great assets to the business.
“They are always very helpful and have bright futures ahead of them,” Ms Blackman said.
