This time, however, golfers played a novelty event which evoked a wide range of emotions. The inaugural three stick event was liked by some and despised by others.
The players initially had to decide which clubs to choose – some chose drivers, others three woods, and then there was the problem of which club would be the best to chip with to the greens.
This apparently didn’t cause too many issues for Jim Read who played the 10 holes in a regulation 20 points.
Read showed great consistency by scoring stableford points on every hole which was quite an achievement.
Second place was taken out by Terry Bedford (18 points) who continues to show a rich vein of form.
Ball winners were John Farkas, Leslie Rouse, Neil Howland, Jeff Williamson, Doug Thomas, Alex Nicholson, Rodney Wilson and Andrew Wormald.
The NTP Second Shot on the 7th hole was won by Jeff Williamson whose tee shot found the putting surface and the first putt finished 68cm from the hole.
