POWER has been restored to almost 2000 Essential Energy customers following an unplanned outage on Wednesday afternoon.
A severe weather warning for damaging winds and gusty thunderstorms was issued by the Bureau of Meteorology just before 3pm.

Then, at around 4pm, power went across more than 2028 homes.
Essential Energy’s website now shows just 34 customers in northern parts of Mudgee remain without power and crews have been notified.

Crews are investigating an unplanned power outage in Mudgee this afternoon.
There are approximately 2028 homes affected according to the Essential Energy website.
The power went out at approximately 4pm this evening and currently there is no eta for the power returning.
