Storms moving across the region overnight have sparked a number of bushfires ahead of another day expected to peak in the high 30s.

NSW Rural Fire Service and NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service crews are currently busy locating and working on a number of fires started by lightning strikes in the southern part of Mid-Western Regional Council area.
The fires are all located in remote areas and there is currently not any threats to property.
Fires resulting from last nights lightning may continue to be found today so the Cudgegong RFS are asking residents who see an unattended fire to call 000 (triple zero) immediately.
There is a ‘High’ bushfire danger rating in place today for the Cudgegong RFS District, which covers the Mid-Western Region.
