Despite placing Layrnx and Alotafox across four races in the nomination round, acceptances will see Gulgong trainer Brett Thompson’s Layrnx run in the Southern Cross Austereo Class 2 Handicap (1400 metres) and the Broadley & Haydon Class 1 Handicap (1280 metres).
The three-year-old gelding’s last win was at Dubbo’s Maiden Plate (1310 metres) where he beat Dubbo/Hawesbury trainer Andrew Palmer’s Ready’s Queen who placed ninth, with the pair set to face once again in the 1400 metre heat.
Meanwhile, Cameron Crockett has Reprimand in the Train 365 Benchmark 66 Handicap (1000 metres) against Gayna Williams’ Dollar Thief.
Williams’ All Too Difficult is the second emergency option in the Nagle Transport Maiden Plate (1400 metres).
The first jump of the meet is at 1.40pm on January 8, at Towac Park, Orange.
