TAFE NSW regional general manager, Kate Baxter, said the study predicted growth in full-time employment opportunities as a result of a current skills shortage, aging population and investments in the region.
“The Mudgee and Orana region is experiencing a shortage of local, skilled workers in a number of areas including Aged and Disabled Care, Pre-Primary School Teaching and Childcare, Construction and Hospitality,” Ms Baxter said.
“Our population is aging and with the extension and construction of new transport corridors, and the construction and development of a number of new health care and childcare facilities, this will continue to generate increased demand for skilled workers."
Members of the Mudgee community can explore course and career options by visiting the TAFE NSW InfoFest between January 21 and 25, 2019, or attend online information sessions at www.tafensw.edu.au
