The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) issued a severe weather warning at 2.52pm on Monday and said that the thunderstorm would bring heavy rain and damaging winds.
Data from the BOM shows the rain began falling at 6.57pm, and by 9.52pm, 27.0mm had been recorded in the Bureau’s gauge at Mudgee Airport.
Along with the rains came strong winds, with the peak gusts recorded at 87km/h.
Meanwhile, the wild weather also swept through Bathurst igniting a fire, flooding a large business and leaving two motorists in a bingle during the heavy deluge.
Initially in Bathurst, Essential Energy reported that 4500 customers were left without power but as of 7.15am on Tuesday that had dropped to around 1600.
