The senior side has received some new faces this year, and coach Kyle Alexander says there’s a lot of experience in the books.
“We’ve got a few new faces, a lot more younger people from the 16s and some who played for the Castlereagh side and some older girls who have played for the last couple of season who are now a bit more experienced,” he said.
“Most of them have played a few years together now so they’re starting to gel together.
“It’ll be good because they’ve finally geled, it’s been a while. They haven’t made it to a semi-final yet but they’ve slowly started winning games each year so hopefully we can make a semi this year.”
Kyle, who is coaching the side for the first time, says the focus at the moment is on getting the team in tip-top shape for the competition.
For the start of the season we’ve been focused on getting them fit, so they’ve been doing a fair bit of training.

“It’s just getting them fit and their ball skills up to date.”
The ones expected to stand out for Gulgong this season are Chloe Pennell, Imogen Hollow, Abbey Hollow, and Dayna Manley (captain) purely for their experience.
“She’ll [Dayna] be good this year, she always is,” Kyle said.
It’s going to be a good season.
A knockout will be held on March 26 at Baradine.
