Mudgee District Cricket Association secretary Terry Ford says not having a division one competition was unfortunate, but with a potential joint competition on the table, it might be a possibility for next year.
"Its was disappointing not to have a first division competition this year which was down to a number of things, older players retiring or not wanting to play that competitively anymore or moving away for uni and work," he said.
"But, with the possibility of a joint competition between Gulgong and Mudgee set up as the central west cricket competition, hopefully these players and any other players wishing to play in a more competitively comp will come forward and we can nominate two teams to play."
