Bradley Yavion of Barigan Court, Mudgee, pleaded guilty to two counts of 'Drive motor vehicle during disqualification period' and one of 'Drive vehicle illicit drug present in blood'.
On the evening of Monday, August 27, 2018, police stopped him in Horatio Street, Mudgee, at the time he was disqualified until November. When they asked why he was driving, he replied "I forgot".
Two nights later police stopped Yavion on Douro Street when he was driving over the speed limit. He also tested positive to a drug test and admitted "I only use cannabis on the weekend".
His solicitor, Tom Flynn, told the court that his client had an issue with the officer who repeatedly arrested him, to which Magistrate David Day said "I wonder why, I imagine there's a photo of him in the police station muster room".
And added that further drive while disqualified charges will result in a sentence of imprisonment.
"If he keeps doing it he'll himself to jail, he won't pass go and he won't collect $200," he said. "It's a willful thumbing of the nose to orders of the court."
