Smokin Hot 'N Saucy owned by Randi and Robert Thraves who hosted the event, began in Mudgee some time ago making appearances at markets and pop ups.
However, the Thraves were eager to bring a competition back to where it all started and after some time organising, their plan had turned into a reality.
"We've always said we want to bring something back to Mudgee and we finally got around to doing that, we were working on it for quite a while," Randi said.
The winners were Manning Valley Natural Smokers, while second place went to Forrest Lump BBQ.
Everybody loved Mudgee, most of them stayed over the night and just thought it was a beautiful town.

Randi and Robert plan on hosting the event annually on the first weekend of April.
"Everyone is looking forward to the event next year," Randi said.
