An amazing day of continuous aircraft action at the Rylstone Aerodrome Air Park, last, Saturday was enjoyed by an estimated 2000 spectators. About 200 aircraft with 350 aviators attended three days of aviation celebration.
The weekend started on on Friday where visitors and locals could pitch their tent under their wing.
At 5pm there was a sunset aerobatic display followed by sitting by the fire pit with drinks and a great cook up on the BBQ.
Amazing aircraft action by the Red Baron Team, led by Joel Haski, aerobatic State Champion.
Flying the Extra 300L, Joel gave crowds a spectacular demonstration of precision control.
Joel is a general aviation industry veteran with over 8,000+ hours of aerobatic flying and instruction to his name.

He owns and operates the Red Baron from Bankstown Airport, providing flight training, aerobatic training and adventure flight services and for over a decade represented Red Bull.
Saturday morning was off bright at early at 7am with breakfast and the arrival of more special guests.
The official opening was held at 1pm. Dick Smith, Companion of the Order of Australia, flew his helicopter to Rylstone to meet and greet fellow aviators.

He opened the new fuelling depot built to service all forms of aircraft.
Michael Smith was one of the speakers at Rylstone Airpark Southern Sun. Michael was awarded Australian Geographic Adventurer of the Year in 2016.
It was great to hear about his experiences. We also heard from Richard from Crespigny and Evan from AvPlan EFB presenting the latest updates and Q and A for AvPlan!
We also had Catherine Fitzsimons and Shelley Ross conducting an exciting presentation on 'Flying in the Outback'.
The amazing displays of aerobatic performances continued after lunch and concluded with a radio control display and live entertainment in the evening.

With excellent catering, the lunch decisions varied from the traditional BBQ sandwich, Pizza, Vietnamese food, curry, coffee etc.
A fine sunny day made the day thoroughly enjoyable for everyone.
This annual event attracts great crowds every year with interesting guest speakers, joy flights, trade stalls and markets.
