Coming into japan I had a really good training block as I wanted to be going well for my big racing block over the next month with races in Hungary Romania and France after Japan.
- BridgeLane rider, Ayden Toovey
"Pretty much every stage has a fair amount of climbing in it.
"The stage I won was a touch 105km circuit with two major climbs each lap. I managed to get in a group off the front that worked well and it eventually dwindled down lap by lap until there was only three of us left going for the line.
"I managed to outsprint the other two with the remnants of the peloton 10 seconds behind us."
Toovey received praise from countless cyclists including Bathurst's Mark Renshaw who said it is "great to see @AydenToovey winning in Japan".
His outfit, Team BridgeLane also took to social media to ensure their rider's efforts were recognised.
"Ayden Toovey rode smart and took out the stage which resulted in almost a clean sweep of the jerseys to go with it," Team BridgeLane Facebook's page said in a post.
The final stage of the Tour will be on April 26.
Between my team, BridgeLane and myself, we will be hoping to get a few more chances at some stage wins.
