Casaco Meats prides itself on being 'not a butcher shop' and sells meat harvested directly from animals grown on their farm. Sue said the team from Casaco oversee the entire process from birth to processing, "We know where our animals are grown, how they are handled, that they are not stressed and what our stock eats".
Sue said that they handpicked the animals for their high quality standards, with the animals processed at a licensed abattoir in Sydney, before being made ready for sale. While it's taken some time to get the venture approved and set up, Sue said the they were proud of the fact that they were the first and only on-farm butchery in the entire region.

"As a family we previously purchased meat as you do from the butcher but we thought how crazy are we? Information about the meat we purchased from the butcher was scarce and we knew we had excellent meat on our farm and we were not properly developing that opportunity," she said.
After seizing that opportunity Cunningham family, consisting of Sue and her husband Craig, his father Max Cunningham, and their son Brad, have gone from strength to strength, and you can now purchase whole, half or quarter yearling beef, whole or half sheep, and for those who don't have room or require a lot of meat there are also meat packs available.
