The event, organised by the FB EK Holden Car Club of NSW, is an opportunity for people to come and see some of the best FB and EK Holdens from across the country. Many proud owners will be displaying their vehicles in the categories of original, sports and modified and are always happy to chat and share memories about their piece of Australian automotive history.
The highlight of the weekend is the show-n-shine at Parklands Resort on the Sunday, which will be open and free to the public.
NSW club president, Wayne Chambers, said, "this Nationals is very special to us as we are celebrating 30 continuous years of the event".
"The first Nationals was held at Wagga Wagga in 1990 and each year since then FB EK Holden enthusiasts have gathered together to enjoy and celebrate one of Holden's most loved vehicle. The Mudgee Nationals is shaping up to be the biggest on record," he said.
"The NSW Club has been working hard in association with Mid-Western Regional Council, the local community and a range of sponsors including Rare Spares and Shannons. Mudgee is a wonderful place to host the event as there is so much to do and see and it is central for entrants travelling interstate."
Mr Chambers added that the model's popularity means that many people have fond memories of their family owning one.
"The FB EK Holden is famous for its colourful two-tone magic mirror colour schemes, big fins, tail light clusters, wraparound windscreen, and lots of chrome," he said.

"The FB EK Holden was produced between 1960 and 1962 by General Motors Holden and became one of Australia's most popular cars - at the time it accounted for almost half of the new car market. It's synonymous with the fabulous fifties, rock 'n roll, brylcream and TV hits such as Six O'Clock Rock with Johnny O'Keefe."
"The vehicle received a total makeover from previous Holden models with American influenced styling elements, however it always had a distinctively Australian style and was built for Australian conditions. The body was longer, the bonnet was lower and flatter and real fins incorporated into the fade away sweeping rear quarters.
"Holden also began to respond to safety concerns by including a deeply dished steering wheel and designing a wrap-around windscreen that provided greater visibility for drivers. The interior was roomier with Elascofab vinyl bench seats both front and back."
