Mayso's Pro Shop head into the final half of the regular season 6 points clear of rivals Predators and Just Brick It, following the Pro Shop's defeat of the four man Predators line up 50-41 prior to the interval.
It was a closer than expected contest with Predators short of players, Mayso's only up by eight points at half time after outscoring their opponents 13-8 in the second quarter.
This proved to a winning thrust by Mayso's Pro Shop, with the second half a struggle for dominance, both teams scoring 13 points in the third period, as Predators, while not able to close the gap, were still in contention at the final break.
Predators pushed hard early in the final quarter, but Mayso's controlled the ball when in possession to deny Predators extra chances of scoring, the last period following a similar pattern to the third with Mayso's Pro Shop edging their opponents 13-12 to win by nine.
Peter Mayson top scored for Mayso's Pro Shop with 12 points, Joel Burke, Brett Murphy, and Dean Saxby 9 each.
Anthony Hanson and Ben Edmunds led the scoring for Predators with 12 points, Declan Kirk 8.
Just Brick It, share second place with Predators after beating Mudgee Pump Company (MPC) 48-37.
Adam Coughlan 10 points for Just Brick It, Matt Purtell 9, Bayley Brown 8.
Lachlan Mitchell top scored for Mudgee Pump Company with 14 points, Fletcher Rawlinson 12, Nick Carter 8.
A week after securing their first win, Hairy Globetrotters were beaten 53-49 by Stride Health.
Stride Health with that victory, now sit in fourth place ahead of Warriors, MPC and Globetrotters.
It was a tough struggle for Stride Health throughout against Hairy Globetrotters, only leading 24-22 at the long break.
Globetrotters hit back in the third quarter outscoring Stride Health 11-8 to edge ahead by a point, but they could not sustain this effort in the final period, Stride Health surging back 21-16 to win a close match by four points.
Top scoring for Stride Health was Jim Disher with 23 points, Liam Young 18, Sam Watson 4.
Jeremy Best hit 20 points for Hairy Globetrotters, Matt Howes 14, Sean Wolfson, Matt Eyles and Ashley Diprose 4 each.
