In a statement to the Mudgee Guardian, Police have revealed that a man earlier believed to have been beaten, in fact sustained the injuries that left him in a critical condition - from a 'medical episode'.
"Officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District have concluded investigations into the discovery of a man sustaining critical injuries at a home in Mudgee," they said.
"Investigations have revealed the man suffered a medical episode which resulted in significant injuries to his head and lower body."
"No further investigations are required into the matter."

NSW Police have announced in a press release that they are appealing for information after a man was critically injured in Mudgee on Wednesday.
Between 2am and 4am yesterday, Wednesday, 17 July, a 22-year-old man has left his Inglis Street home at Mudgee for unknown reasons.
About 1.30pm that afternoon, the man was located by his partner in the laundry of the home suffering significant bruising to his face, head, and lower body.

The man was taken to Mudgee Hospital by ambulance, before being airlifted to Westmead Hospital Sydney where he remains in a critical condition.
Police attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District established a crime scene at the Inglis Street home.
