Mudgee had no shortage of reputation at this year's Skillset Awards for the Central West and Orana regions with multiple names being awarded.

Each year, the ceremony is held to recognise individuals, businesses and organisations who have excelled in employment, skills development and educational programs.
In the running for the 2019 Joyce Hawkes Trainee of the Year Award that recognises dedication to a traineeship, are local trainees Maisy Henwood (Certificate III in Business Administration at First National Real Estate) and Nadine Richards (Certificate III in Transport and Logistics at Mid-Western Regional Council).
Also a finalist is the First National Real Estate Mudgee team who are in the running for the Small to Medium Host of the Year Award for their training and support of trainees.
As for Moolarben Coal Operations, the host employer was awarded with the Skillset Host Excellence Award, acknowledging their long standing relationship with Skillset which has resulted in 178 apprentices and trainees completing their qualifications since the initiation of the partnership in 2009.
Also recognised for their ongoing skills development and extensive training was Peabody's Wilpinjong Mine who were awarded with the Large Host of the Year Award.
Robert Oatley Vineyards also took out one of the top awards, the Jim Todman Safety Award for their attention to workplace safety and health and wellbeing of apprentices and trainees.
Skillset CEO Craig Randazzo took the opportunity to congratulate all the winners, stating the organisation's partnership with businesses crucial to the opportunity.
"We are committed to building skills, jobs and a sustainable future in our communities and it is gratifying to see the outstanding results that are being acknowledged here today," Mr Randazzo said.
